How long should one wait to wash brand new locs?
I'm considering locs, but I will be pretty active this semester so I know I will be sweating a lot meaning I would have to wash my hair more often than usual. But i think i can handle it if I don't have to wait TOO long. So the quesiton is: what's the usual rule of thumb on this?
that is totally fine if you are going to be active, go ahead and start your journey. i have been growing my locks for a year and some change and what i did when i first locked up was go to the salon every two to three weeks. your hair and scalp would be fine, so don't worry about washing them yourself unless you know how to twist them back up again. it is best to wait until your hair has fully locked to wash them yourself...usually 4 months depending on the thickness of your hair. going to a loctician is very crucial in the beginning locking stages.
